Last month saw the celebration of our Club’s 10th Anniversary and, much to the relief of my dear wife, all seemed to go without a hitch. Unfortunately last month also saw us lose two of our Club’s beloved members and elder statesmen in Life member Tony Bendeich and Jim Eccles. Our sympathies go out to the families of both – they will be sorely missed.

Very hearty congratulations to our re-elected President Ben, VP Ron, Secretary Fleur, Treasurer Robin, committee member Dawn and newly elected committee members Dick Boyd and Julian Tapping. Also taking on new roles this year are Outings Co-ordinator Dave Spencer and Club Captain Dave Curry. The club thanks and congratulates you a good mix of new and old.

Like many members I enjoy jumping on a computer and checking the internet for videos and articles (is that the right term Julian?) concerning fly fishing. Apart from drooling over great tackle and destinations that have me purchasing lottery tickets there is a host of information and instruction available. It was whilst trolling the net that I came across this month’s tip. If anyone discovers a valuable tip that may benefit our members please bring it to my attention.

There is no outing report for last month as our Anniversary luncheon took precedence. However, two of the year’s outstanding events are now imminent being the Swansea Salmon Classic and the Guyra Troutfest. What a great time to be a member of the HFFC!
