Welcome to the May/June Edition of the Flycast!

I hope you enjoy this edition. One of our newer members, Mark Stevens, was pleasantly surprised to learn that, as the lucky attendance prize winner at the Wallabi Point outing, he also earned the task of writing a brief report about the event. His excellent report is featured in this edition. Thanks, Mark!

As always, if you come across articles or information of interest to our members, please send them to me for future editions. A big thank you to those who have already contributed.

In this issue, we are introducing a new feature called Some Things Fishy, which will showcase photos of fish caught by members during excursions outside of our monthly outings. This feature depends on you, our members, sending in photos of your fly-caught fish! This edition includes contributions from Brian J, Sidney & Anthony (Hopkins), and Michael & Cheryl. If you’ve had a successful catch, send in your photos, and don’t forget to include details of the fly and technique you used!

We’re approaching the end of the current club year, and our AGM is set for Sunday, 21st July. I hope you’ve enjoyed the 2023/24 season. Over the past twelve months, we’ve welcomed ten new or returning members, which is promising for the future of our club. Sadly, we’ve also lost two valued members, Gwelma and Sue. Our thoughts and support remain with Rodney and Robin during this time.

Club activities thrive on individual participation, and now is the time to consider a more formal contribution. If you, or someone you know, would make a good office holder, please step forward. The AGM will elect our incoming office bearers, and while I’m happy to be nominated again as President, I’m also open to welcoming fresh leadership. The same may apply to other Executive positions as well.
