Welcome to a bumper picture edition of HFF Flycast!
You may have noticed a new addition at the top of this newsletter. Following the recent redesign of the club logo, we took the opportunity to refresh the newsletter header as well, with a new font and the updated logo. We hope everyone enjoys the fresh new look.
Sadly, this edition also brings news of the passing of Bob Dove, one of the founders of Hastings Fly Fishers Inc. Ben and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Janice, Bob’s family, and his many friends. The tribute included in this newsletter is a testament to how much Bob meant to so many people, and we are grateful that it has been shared with us.
On a brighter note, the Weipa crew — Dawn, Ron, Rodney, Paul, Ken, Michael, and Cheryl — did a fantastic job up north. As the photos flooded in, Ben and I became increasingly jealous; had we not been working, we would both have jumped on a plane immediately to join the fish-catching fun.
In the end, we simply couldn’t bear to leave any of the photos out, so this edition features a huge photo montage for your viewing pleasure.
With the AGM coming up, we’d also like to say that if members are happy for us to continue, Ben and I would be delighted to stay on for another year as Newsletter Editors.
It has been a fun few months, and we couldn’t do it without your support. This newsletter relies on all of you — our intrepid reporters, audacious photographers, and thrill-seeking adventurers — to provide the stories, photos, and memories that make The Flycast what it is.
