Anti-Static-Apps Variant

Anti-Static-Apps Variant

The Apps Bloodworm is a highly potent fly for stillwater and reservoir fishing, crafted and refined by Peter Appleby, a renowned competition angler. This versatile fly excels when used in two main ways: firstly, as a ‘lure’ on an intermediate line, allowing for varied retrieval speeds; secondly, as a point fly in conjunction with a team of buzzers or nymphs above, ideally paired with a floating line.

What follows is a variant on Steve Cullen’s Anti-Static-Apps – the combination of the fish enticing properties of the mystical anti-static and the brutally effective App’s Bloodworm.

The Anti-Static-Apps Variant can be fished with a fast retrieve, really slow figure-eight retrieve, and a static with an indicator, letting the wind move the fly.
