HFF Flycast, November 2022
Volume 15, No. 4, November 2022

Welcome to our November Newsletter. As has happened a bit this year, our October outing to Stuarts Point had to be cancelled due to the weather. Hopefully in the new year the weather will be a little kinder – especially for those people who have been caught up in what seems to be ever increasing floods.
The Club held a farewell dinner for Iain and Bonnie, which was very well attended with about 34 members and guests in attendance including our Club Patron Brian and Anne Henderson.
On behalf of the club, I had the pleasure of presenting Bonnie and Iain with a lovely glass plaque and two inscribed wine/cocktail glasses. An enjoyable night for all, tinged with some sadness that we are losing two of our very active and valuable members. If all went to plan, they should have departed Laurieton on Thursday 3rd November for the long trek north to Darwin.
In other news, a number of members (Don & Margaret, Ron & Dawn, Rodney, and Ken H) attended the Casting for Recovery Day on the weekend of the 5th. Thanks go to them all for the work that they have already and will put into the success of this day. Hope to see you at the Christmas Party on the 27th, and if not there, I look forward to seeing you on a river somewhere.
May your waders never leak, and you always have a tight line.
David
PS: In putting together the newsletter I have to pay tribute to Iain and Bonnie for the work they have put into this over several years now. What a sterling job they did.
As the fill-in Editor, I will confine my report to just one word…
