HFF Flycast, January 2022
Volume 14, No. 6, January 2022
Greetings from Darwin! That is how I intended to start this newsletter. Apologies for the delay. Full of good intentions, packing our laptop I really thought this edition would be written whilst away. However, once up there, that’s another story. I do have two good justifications though. Number one, Darwin is on Melanesian time, that is, don’t do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
Number two, every waking minute was taken up with family time and especially with our gorgeous little granddaughter and young distant member Zoey, who also had her third birthday while we were there. After all aren’t Christmases and birth-days all about family? We squeezed in every second we could.
Middle of the wet season is not a pleasant time in Darwin and Christmas Day saw the prospect of a cyclone bearing down on us, uh, oh, shades of cyclone Tracey we thought. Fortunately it missed us and all we experienced was torrential rain. Have you ever tried to drive in a Darwin whiteout? Not pleasant at all!
On returning home we have managed to catch up on fishing news with Rodney. He reports that the flatties are hot on Watson Taylors Lake. We believe him, just look at the photo below. Proof! And the report is that there are many more out there.
Hope you started the New Year on a happy note and from this Scot to you , Bli-adhna Mhath Ur or Happy New Year.
Slainte Mhath! Cheers!
