Soft Hackle Black and Peacock Spider Variation
A really versatile wet fly that fishes well on both lakes and rivers. Tying a Black and Peacock Spider is quick and easy. When fishing gets tough, this fly fishes well as a nymph on the lake for rising fish or when they are high in the water. On a river, it swings well as a wet or you can tie it with a bead and use it as a nymph.

Paul’s Notes
You could production-tie the tinsel and the UV bulb first on a few before finishing with the herl and hackle.
In putting the egg sac on the hook the important technique is to twist your hackle pliers to make the tinsel a smaller cord (see below – 0:59s).
It looks like a strip pause retrieve as the heavier tail will drop and open up the hackle.
